Role of narrow-band imaging in detection of head and neck unknown primary squamous cell carcinoma

Filauro M, et al. - This trial was carried out to evaluate the role of narrow-band imaging (NBI) for the detection of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas of unknown primary (SCCUPs). The detection rate of head and neck SCCUPs was increased by 34.5% due to the use of office-based NBI. It ought to be strongly recommended as an adjunctive tool in the diagnostic workup of SCCUPs.
