Role of IQGAP3 in metastasis and epithelialâmesenchymal transition in human hepatocellular carcinoma
Journal of Translational Medicine Aug 19, 2017
Shi Y, et al. – The researchers explored the biological role and molecular mechanism of IQ motif–containing GTPase activating protein 3 (IQGAP3) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). They described that IQGAP3 functions as an important regulator of metastasis and epithelial–to–mesenchymal transition (EMT) by constitutively activating the TGF–β signaling pathway in HCC. They provided new evidence of the role of IQGAP3 in EMT and metastasis. These findings indicated its potential as a prognostic biomarker candidate and a therapeutic target against HCC.
