Ramon A, et al. - Herein, the potential role of dual-energy CT in diagnoses and follow-up of gout was assessed by the authors with regard to the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) filter. For the diagnosis of gout, particularly for tophaceous gout (intra- or extra-articular), dual-energy CT-scan was noted to be a reproducible and accurate imaging modality. In cases of diagnostic doubt, it could serve as a second-line imaging modality of choice.
