Sogaard M, et al. - A comparative scrutiny was performed of the rates of post-thrombotic syndrome in patients who were given rivaroxaban vs warfarin in a cohort of routine clinical care subjects with incident venous thromboembolism. Lower but statistically non-significant rates of post-thrombotic syndrome were obtained due to rivaroxaban. This did not appear to be mediated only by an effect on recurrent venous thromboembolism.
