Risks of all-cause mortality and major kidney events in patients with new-onset primary open-angle glaucoma: A nationwide long-term cohort study in Taiwan
BMJ Open Mar 29, 2018
Chou CL, et al. - Experts gauged the long-term mortality and major kidney events in patients with new-onset primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. Compared to patients without ocular disorders (WODs), a substantially higher risk of all-cause mortality was reported in subjects with new-onset POAG. POAG was discovered to be a risk of all-cause mortality, acute renal failure (ARF) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD), thereby needing to notice mortality and major kidney events in patients with new-onset POAG.
