Knupp RJ, et al. - The authors aimed at determining the rate of urinary tract infection (UTI) in women undergoing pelvic reconstructive surgery for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and at assessing the risk factors predicting postoperative UTI in this cohort. They recognized a higher risk of postoperative UTI after reconstructive procedures for POP among women with BMI >30 Kg/m2, and among women undergoing vaginal procedures or a concomitant anti-incontinence procedure.
