Risk stratification of adrenal masses by 18F]FDG PET/CT: Changing tactics
Clinical Endocrinology Dec 11, 2020
Salgues B Guerin C, Amodru V, et al. - The present study was conducted to explore the performance of Tumour standardized uptake value (SUV)max: Liver SUVmax for malignancy‐risk and to build and assess a prediction model. In this cohort, researchers included consecutive patients with adrenal masses assessed by [18F]FDG PET/CT. They included 64 individuals; 28% of them had Cushing's syndrome. For diagnosis of adrenal masses, tumor SUVmax: Liver SUVmax uptake ratio was found to be a useful biomarker. The data considered that another tactic would be to estimate with the model an individual risk of malignancy and integrate this information into a shared decision‐making process.
