Risk scoring system with MRI for intraoperative massive hemorrhage in placenta previa and accreta
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nov 04, 2019
Chen D, Xu J, Ye P, et al. - In this retrospective cohort study of a total of 374 persons (259 with placenta previa and others with accreta) following former cesarean section for the derivation cohort and 115 persons for the validation cohort, experts developed a scoring system for intraoperative massive hemorrhage combining MRI and clinical features to prognosticate the risk of massive hemorrhage in placenta previa and accreta. The scoring system for intraoperative massive hemorrhage comprised of MRI and clinical indicators, and the developed scoring system could exactly evaluate the risk of intraoperative massive hemorrhage in individuals with placenta previa and accreta using a cutoff value of 7 points for a high risk of massive bleeding. Moreover, this scoring system could possibly decrease the incidence of intraoperative massive bleeding by recognizing persons at high risk.
