Risk reduction of endometrial and ovarian cancer after bisphosphonates use: A meta-analysis
Gynecologic Oncology Jul 04, 2018
Zhang XS, et al. - Considering the controversial results of recent epidemiological studies investigating the associations between the use of bisphosphonates and the development of endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer, researchers examined the changes in the risks of developing endometrial and ovarian cancers after using bisphosphonates via data analyzed after comprehensively searching the MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases through January 2017. Use of bisphosphonates led to a significant risk reduction of endometrial cancer but not of ovarian cancer. Mainly postmenopausal women and those taking bisphosphonates for longer than 1?year demonstrated the protective effects of bisphosphonate use against endometrial cancer.
