Risk of pneumonia after vertebral compression fracture in women with low bone density: A population-based study

Kim B, et al. - Researchers ascertained the correlation between vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) and pneumonia. The National Health Screening Program Cohort, a population-based sample cohort of national health screening enrolees was the data source. They analyzed the time to the first occurrence of pneumonia with Cox-regression analysis. Data demonstrated an association of isolated VCF, especially those involving thoracic region, with an increased risk of pneumonia.
