Risk of developing metachronous advanced colorectal neoplasia after colonoscopic polypectomy in patients aged 30 to 39 and 40 to 49 years
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Jun 03, 2018
Kim NH, et al. - Authors attempted to compare the risk of metachronous colorectal neoplasia (CRN) in patients aged 30 to 39, 40 to 49, and ≥50 years old. Patients who underwent ≥1 adenoma removal between 2010 and 2014 and follow-up colonoscopic surveillance until 2017 were studied in this investigation. It was observed in the findings that the risk of metachronous advanced CRN (ACRN) was lower in patients aged <50 years than in those aged ≥50 years. Results of this study suggested that the postpolypectomy surveillance interval could be extendable to >3 and 5 years in high-risk and low-risk adenoma groups, respectively, in patients aged <50 years.
