Risk factors of myasthenic crisis after thymectomy for thymoma patients with myasthenia gravis

Xue L, et al. - The present study was undertaken to determine the risk factors of postoperative myasthenic crisis (POMC) occurrence after thymectomy for thymoma patients with myasthenia gravis. In this study, Osserman stage (IIA-IV) and World Health Organization (WHO) type B2-B3 thymomas seemed the independent predictors of POMC in thymoma patients with myasthenia gravis who have undergone total thymectomy. Thus, authors suggested providing adequate perioperative care to these patients.
