Risk factors of haemoglobinuria after microwave ablation of liver tumours
Clinical Radiology Jul 22, 2018
Li D, et al. - In the present study, researchers investigated the risk factors predicting hemoglobinuria following ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) of liver tumors, as well as the treatments and outcomes by analyzing data from 2,829 subjects admitted for liver tumors treated with MWA from January 2011 to April 2017. For statistical analysis, binary logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis were used. The obtained data indicate that hemoglobinuria was associated with high MWA energy, long MWA duration, and great MWA volume. Drug treatments including kidney protection, adequate hydration, alkalization of urine, and diuresis were administrated to the subjects with hemoglobinuria.
