Risk factors for weight loss 1 year after esophagectomy and gastric pull-up for esophageal cancer
Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery Apr 05, 2018
Park SY, et al. - Changes in body weight and risk factors for weight loss after esophagectomy for esophageal cancer were determined. Initial body weight and post-operative vocal cord palsy (VCP) were related to weight loss. In this work, the mean change in body weight was -10.95±7.50%. Multivariable analysis revealed that initial body weight and post-operative VCP were adverse risk factors for weight loss 1 year after esophagectomy, unlike conduit type, route of reconstruction, post-operative complications, anastomotic complications, minimally invasive esophagectomy, and adjuvant therapy.
