Risk factors for venous thromboembolic events in pediatric surgical patients: Defining indications for prophylaxis

Cairo SB, et al. - Pediatric general surgery patients undergoing abdominopelvic procedures were examined for the risk factors for venous thromboembolism (VTE). Researchers observed rare occurrence of VTE in pediatric patients. However, patients at heightened risk could be identified with the help of prediction modeling.
