Risk factors for the development of incident atrial fibrillation in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices
European Journal of Internal Medicine Mar 03, 2018
Miyazawa K, et al. - This research focused on exploring the risk factors for the development of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). The development of new-onset AF was noted in a significant number of patients with CIEDs. Findings illustrated that 4 clinical factors (age ≥ 65, diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, left atrial volume index > 34 ml/m2) independently speculated new-onset AF. Moreover, it could offer an approach to clinically useful risk analysis for incident AF.
