Risk factors for short-term complications after rotator cuff repair in the United States

Schairer WW, et al. - Rate of 30-day complications post-rotator cuff repair as well as risk factors for complication and unplanned hospital readmission were assessed in this study, using a population-level dataset. A low incidence of short-term complications was reported, with infection being the most common complication. The following factors significantly increased the risk of complications and hospital readmission: open repair, male gender, increased age, and medical comorbidities.
