Risk factors for prehypertension and their interactive effect: A cross- sectional survey in China
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders Sep 20, 2018
Song J, et al. – Researchers assessed the risk factors for prehypertension in 1,777 Chinese middle-aged and elderly adults, and also determined the potentially interactive impact of evaluated factors. Prehypertension was found to be currently prevalent in Chinese adults. There was also a significant association of age, family history of cardiovascular diseases, smoking, general obesity and lipid accumulation product (LAP) with prehypertension risk. Compared with body mass index, LAP performed better in males and females but was superior to waist circumference only in females.
