Wei W, et al. - For the clarification of all risk factors for postoperative stroke in adult patients with moyamoya disease (MMD), researchers analyzed 1,649 patients who underwent surgery with MMD in eight studies were selected for analysis. For postoperative stroke in patients presenting with MMD, preoperative ischemic events, posterior cerebral artery involvement, and diabetes were independent risk factors as per the analysis of this study. It is essential to detect these risk factors and prevent postoperative complications for the successful cure of MMD patients.
