Risk factors for postoperative hemorrhage in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma: A retrospective study

Li S, et al. - Authors examined 1,513 Patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma to assess the factors associated with risk for postoperative hemorrhage in these cases. They noticed that 34 individuals experienced postoperative hemorrhage. Cigarette and alcohol consumption, floor of mouth tumors, T4 classified tumors, flap reconstruction, surgical site infection, and flap necrosis were identified risk factors for postoperative hemorrhage in the univariate analysis; flap necrosis and surgical site infection were independent risk factors for postoperative hemorrhage in the multivariate model.
