Deng QW, et al. – Risk factors for acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) were explored among adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Findings reported a link between 14 risk factors and an increased AMI risk, which suggested that AMI might occur via stenosis or occlusion of mesenteric vessels, reduced blood volume or maldistribution of blood flow.
