Risk factors for osteoporosis in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy

Kim SW, et al. - The bone mineral density (BMD) of patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) vs that of normal controls were retrospectively assessed, along with the clinical factors correlated with osteoporosis. The findings from the present study suggested that BMD in CIDP subjects was significantly lower than in normal controls. Researchers reported that functional status, not cumulative steroid dose, was associated with osteoporosis.
