Risk factors for nonconvulsive status epilepticus after stroke

Tomari S, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers analyzed the risk factors for nonconvulsive status epilepticus after stroke and the baseline clinical characteristics (age, sex, past history of epilepsy, early seizure, stroke type, and localization) of the convulsive SE (CSE) and NCSE groups. Investigators observed that among the two group, recurrence of seizures and mortality did not differ significantly. Significant risk factors of NCSE after stroke were cardioembolic stroke and frontal lesion.
