Bhat R, et al. - Risk factors associated with venous and arterial thrombosis were identified in sick neonates who were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit. In this study, higher incidence of thrombosis was noted in this neonatal population. Male sex and bloodstream infection represented independent risk factors for neonatal venous thrombosis after matching for the central vascular access device and gestational age.
