Risk factors for laryngeal trauma and granuloma formation in pediatric intubations

Jang M, et al. - In this trial, researchers sought to evaluate the existence of any risk factors for the development of persistent post-intubation sequelae, including delayed presentation and unusual location of post-intubation granulomas in children. Findings recommended that trauma to the larynx during intubation ought to be avoided to minimize post-intubation injury in pediatric patients, with the use of appropriate intubation protocols, endotracheal tube size and adequate sedation.
