Risk factors for intraoperative massive transfusion in pediatric liver transplantation: A multivariate analysis
International Journal of Medical Sciences Sep 18, 2017
Jin SJ, et al. - This multivariate analysis strived to evaluate the risk factors correlated with massive transfusion in pediatric liver transplantation (LT) and to investigate the effect of massive transfusion on the postoperative outcomes. During pediatric LT, massive transfusion was significantly correlated with a high white blood cell (WBC) count, low platelet count, and cadaveric donor. This finding could give a better understanding of perioperative blood transfusion management in pediatric LT recipients.
