Tsubouchi N, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the incidence as well as risk factors for implant removal following surgical site infection (SSI) managed with instrumentation, and assessed potential strategies for avoiding implant removal. Implant retention was likely in patients with SSI who underwent posterior cervical surgery and, implant survival was improved via immediate administration of effective antibiotics.
