In comparison to using smear preparation, they detected atypical lymphoid cells more significantly using vitrectomy cell block technique. They also found concurrent cataract surgery and subretinal tumor infiltration significantly correlated with failure in vitrectomy cell blocks after adjusting for age and sex.
