Risk factors for development of ectopic atrial tachycardia in post-operative congenital heart disease
Pediatric Cardiology Mar 02, 2018
Clark BC, et al. - The incidence, and risk factors of ectopic atrial tachycardia (EAT) after congenital heart disease (CHD) surgery were determined in this study. Frequent occurrence of post-operative EAT was reported among patients who underwent operation for CHD, especially in neonates. The factors that were found to be associated with EAT included younger age, lower weight, single ventricle physiology, longer cardiopulmonary bypass time, need for delayed sternal closure, and higher STAT category. High potential risk for arrhythmia-induced hemodynamic compromise was noted in single ventricle population.
