Risk factors associated with mortality from vascular thromboembolic events in patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer: A population-based analysis
QJM: An International Journal of Medicine Aug 28, 2017
He XJ, et al. – The clinicians attempted this work to assess risk factors associated with the mortality from vascular thromboembolic events in patients diagnosed with non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). They concluded that age, black race, non–adenocarcinoma histology, surgical treatment alone and north central region of Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) registry were the risk factors associated with mortality from the vascular thromboembolic events in these patients. Knowledge of these risk factors would promote awareness and probably helps to identify patients in whom antithrombotic prophylaxis measures could be applied.
