Risk factors associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes in patients with new- onset systemic lupus erythematosus during pregnancy
Lupus Jan 13, 2021
Chen J, Xiao ZZ, Shi Q, et al. - In this study, the risk factors for Adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) were examined in patients with new-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) during pregnancy. Researchers retrospectively examined a total of 85 individuals with new-onset SLE during pregnancy. They applied univariate and multivariate logistic regression to distinguish risk factors for different APOs (pregnancy loss, preterm birth, fetal growth restriction, and eclampsia/preeclampsia). The results demonstrated that during pregnancy, the new-onset SLE elevated the risk for multiple APOs. For these patients, timely management of the risk factors distinguished here may help to improve pregnancy outcomes.
