Risk factors and outcomes of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus colonization in patients on peritoneal dialysis: A single-center study in Hong Kong

Yeung CS, et al. - This study assessed peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, to examine risk factors and various clinical outcomes for vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) colonization in these subjects. Findings suggested that among hospitalized PD patient, vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus colonization is crucial and, particularly in high-risk patients, it is mandatory to prevent VRE spreading via the cautious use of antibiotics and infection control measures.
