Revision total knee arthroplasty using an uncemented metaphyseal sleeve, rotating hinge prosthesis: A case series of 99 patients
Journal of Arthroplasty Jan 28, 2021
Panesar K, Al-Mouazzen L, Nessa L, et al. - This study was sought to examine the use of an uncemented metaphyseal sleeve revision knee replacement in the unit—a third-generation rotating hinge knee prosthesis. Researchers retrospectively distinguished 99 revision cases between 2002 and 2018. This is the largest research of this prosthesis with the longest follow-up. It indicates good survivorship and improvement in knee pain. As per the findings, those with infection are at the greatest risk of revision. Significant numbers have patella dysfunction/anterior knee symptoms thus patella resurfacing should be considered when applying this implant.
