Review of enhanced recovery programs in benign gynecologic surgery
International Urogynecology Journal Sep 08, 2017
Trowbridge ER, et al. - This review is conducted to assess the current literature on the utilization of enhanced recovery program (ERP) concepts in benign gynecologic surgery. In light of these outcomes, this integrative review supports the implementation of ERPs in benign gynecologic surgery. The outcomes demonstrated that the utilization of ERPs reduced the length of stay (LOS), improved pain scores, and reduced hospital costs, without increasing perioperative complications. They propose additional randomized controlled trials of ERP concepts in benign gynecologic surgery to support their more widespread utilization and application.
