Retrospective analysis of the development of PIRADS 3 lesions over time: When is a follow-up MRI reasonable?
World Journal of Urology Dec 20, 2017
Steinkohl F, et al. - Herein, the experts investigated if PIRADS 3 lesions evolved over time. Additionally, they assessed how long the optimal interval between initial MRI of the prostate and follow-ups ought to be. When compared to immediate biopsy, follow-up multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) could be beneficial for patients with PIRADS 3, since most lesions could be reclassified after a manageable period of time. The occurrence of upgrades to PIRADS 4 was probably noted earlier and within fewer follow-ups than downgrades to PIRADS 2. It was determined that the optimal interval for follow-up MRIs was 12.4 months.
