Retrograde entry portal for cephalomedullary nailing in difficult subtrochanteric fractures
Injury Mar 26, 2021
Gavaskar A, Srinivasan P, Balamurugan J, et al. - This study was sought to present a simple technique of making a retrograde entry portal for select difficult subtrochanteric fractures. The technique was used in 12 subtrochanteric fractures. Researchers conducted additional reaming of the thick endosteal lateral cortex through the fracture in atypical fractures. The retrograde entry portal was found to be a valuable alternative method that can be considered in nailing difficult subtrochanteric fractures to develop an ideal entry point and nail trajectory.
