Retinal capillary rarefaction in patients with untreated mild-moderate hypertension

Bosch AJ, et al. - An analysis was performed to compare capillary rarefaction of retinal vessels in hypertensive vs normotensive subjects. In comparison to healthy normotensive subjects, patients with hypertension stage 1 or 2 showed retinal capillary rarefaction. With the duration of disease, retinal capillary rarefaction was intensified.
