Repetitive 18F-FDG-PET/CT in patients with large-vessel giant-cell arteritis and controlled disease
European Journal of Internal Medicine Sep 14, 2017
de Boysson H, et al. - The physicians evaluated how vascular uptakes evolve on repetitive FDG-PET/CT (positron emission tomography with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) combined with computed tomography (PET/CT)) in patients with clinically and biologically controlled disease. On repeated FDG-PET/CT, this study demonstrated long-term persistent vascular uptake in >80% of the giant-cell arteritis (GCA) patients with large-vessel inflammation and clinical-biological controlled disease. To confirm these findings, prospective studies were needed.
