Repeated adrenaline doses and survival from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
Resuscitation Feb 01, 2019
Fothergill RT, et al. – In this study, researchers investigated the relationship between repeated doses of adrenaline and survival in a cohort of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients who received treatment from the London Ambulance Service in the United Kingdom. Adrenaline during OHCA was administered to 3,151 patients over the 1-year study period. Increasing cumulative doses of adrenaline were identified to have a significant inverse relationship with survival both to hospital discharge and 1-year post-arrest. Patients receiving > 10 adrenaline doses did not survive.
