Renal outcomes in primary IgA nephropathy patients with segmental glomerular necrosis: A case-control study
Human Pathology Feb 14, 2018
Pan M, et al. - This study was formulated in order to examine the renal prognosis and treatment of primary IgA nephropathy (IgAN) patients with segmental glomerular necrosis (SGN). It was determined that SGN hinted towards an active renal inflammatory state, but it did not serve as an independent risk factor for a poor renal outcome in patients treated with immunosuppressive therapy. A more stable renal function and low urinary protein excretion were illustrated among patients with SGN during follow-up, which could be the result of aggressive immunotherapy.
