Renal function affects prognostic role of antiphosphatidylserine antibodies for acute ischemic stroke patients
Cerebrovascular Diseases Sep 17, 2019
Wang G, Zhong C, Peng H, et al. - In this prospective study involving 2,874 patients who had suffered from ischemic stroke, researchers explored the prognostic value of anti-phosphatidylserine antibodies (aPS) following ischemic stroke, stratified by renal function status. This investigation was based on China Antihypertensive Trial in Acute Ischemic Stroke, a randomized clinical trial conducted between August 2009 and May 2013 in 26 hospitals across China. Eligible participants had blood samples or baseline records of estimated glomerular filtration rate. In patients with abnormal renal function, increased aPS were positively and independently linked to death or major disability following acute ischemic stroke.
