Chung MS, et al. - In this prospective study, researchers assessed if detection and characterization of acute ischemic stroke could be done reliably with a fast scanned MRI using a 1.5-T scanner vs conventional MRI. Participants in the study were 862 patients. Findings suggested that fast MRI at 1.5 T can accomplish high intermethod reliability in acute ischemic stroke detection and characterization with reduced scanning time vs conventional MRI.
