Relevance of MTHFR polymorphisms with response to fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy in oesophagogastric cancer: A meta-analysis
BMJ Open Jun 01, 2018
Zhong L, et al. - Experts conducted a meta-analysis to assess the relationship between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) polymorphisms and the response to fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy in oesophagogastric cancer. PubMed, Embase and Web of Science databases from inception up to October 2017 for relevant studies were searched. Using STATA V.12.0 software, the statistical analysis was performed. In this meta-analysis, an aggregate of two thousand, twenty patients from 12 studies was involved. For predicting the response to fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy in oesophagogastric cancer, MTHFR polymorphisms could not be considered as reliable factors.
