Relationship between ventricular arrhythmias, conduction disorders, and myocardial fibrosis in patients with systemic sclerosis
JCR: Journal of Clinical Rheumatology Jan 05, 2018
Muresan L, et al. - Herein, systemic sclerosis patients were examined for possible correlations between ventricular arrhythmias, conduction disorders, and myocardial fibrosis. Researchers reported myocardial fibrosis could be detected by delayed-enhancement magnetic resonance imaging in a high percentage of these subjects. The ventricular arrhythmia burden and severity or the presence of conduction disorders seemed not to be affected by the presence of myocardial fibrosis, with the exception of diffuse myocardial fibrosis, which modestly impacted the total number of premature ventricular contractions/24 hours.
