Relationship between prodromal angina pectoris and neutrophil-to lymphocyte ratio in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction
Heart, Lung, and Circulation Apr 25, 2018
Gok M, et al. - Researchers evaluated the link between prodromal angina (PA) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) by looking at 145 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) who had emergency coronary angiography (CA) within 24 hours of symptom onset. Data were collected regarding whether patients had experienced PA before acute myocardial infarction. Absence of PA was shown to be significantly and independently related to increased NLR and impaired left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) after reperfusion. In STEMI patients, both lack of PA and impaired LVEF were significantly predicted by increased NLR.
