Relationship between high platelet reactivity on clopidogrel and long-term clinical outcomes after drug-eluting stents implantation (PAINT-DES): A prospective, propensity score-matched cohort study
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders Jun 01, 2018
Gao XF, et al. - Researchers aimed at exploring the association between high platelet reactivity (HPR) on clopidogrel and long-term clinical outcomes following implantation of drug eluting stents (DES). In this prospective study, they enrolled a total of 1,769 consecutive patients assessed by Aggrestar (PL-11) at their center from February 2011 to December 2017. HPR on clopidogrel was noted to be correlated with incremental long-term risk of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) after DES implantation. This was mainly driven by increased all-cause death and clinically driven target vessel revascularization (TVR). The present study thus suggests potential benefits for platelet function testing.
