Relationship between exercise capacity and glucose tolerance in cystic fibrosis
Pediatric Pulmonology Nov 13, 2017
Foster K, et al. - An inspection was pursued of the connection between exercise capacity and glucose tolerance in cystic fibrosis (CF). Poor glucose tolerance exhibited a correlation with lower exercise capacity (EC) in pediatric patients with CF. A prominent link was disclosed between glucose and insulin values obtained by oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT) with EC among non-diabetic patients with preserved lung function. In order to ascertain these findings and to gauge the potential role of exercise in the management or prevention of CF-related diabetes (CFRD), additional exploration was necessitated.
