Relationship between corneal biomechanical properties and structural biomarkers in patients with normal-tension glaucoma: A retrospective study
BMC Ophthalmology Jan 28, 2018
Park K, et al. - The relationships between corneal biomechanical properties and structural parameters were evaluated in patients with newly diagnosed, untreated normal-tension glaucoma (NTG). Researchers found that lower corneal hysteresis was associated with smaller rim area and volume, larger linear cup-to-disc ratio, and thinner mean retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, independent of disc size, corneal thickness, intraocular pressure, and age.
