Kim YI, et al. - The association between epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status and FDG PET/CT findings was determined and the influence of this relationship to the use of FDG PET/CT parameters for the purpose of establishing a prognosis in cases of localized lung adenocarcinoma was evaluated. It was shown that EGFR mutation status should be taken into account when FDG PET/CT parameters are used for prognosis based on the differences in the metabolic activity of EGFR mutant and wild-type tumors.
