Relation of bleeding events to mortality in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction treated by percutaneous coronary intervention (a DANAMI-3 Substudy)
The American Journal of Cardiology Jan 22, 2018
Sadjadieh G, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the incidence and prognosis of, and variables linked with serious bleedings within 30 days after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Data disclosed a low incidence of 30-day TIMI minor/major bleeding (TMMB) in a contemporary STEMI-population. The TMMB illustrated a strong correlation with 30-day mortality but not with mortality day 31-365. It was deduced that the short- and long-term prognoses of patients remained unaffected if patients survived a serious bleeding.
